This privacy policy is applicable to the Foundation of Catholic Community Services ("Foundation") and sets out our policy on the gathering and use of personal information, both for membership purposes and on our websites (fccsmontreal.org and catholiccentre.ca). The Foundation complies with the Quebec Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (P-39.1).

Personal information is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual. Personal information that we may ask individuals to provide may include but is not limited to: first and last name, e-mail address, phone number, address, and parish affiliation.

Membership List

Information submitted at the time of application or registration for membership may be used by the Foundation for membership purposes. By virtue of their registration, members consent to being added to the membership list and being contacted by the Foundation, including receiving e-mails the Foundation sends to its members.

The Foundation is required to provide the membership list to any member who requests it. Members wishing to obtain a copy of the membership list must make their request to the Foundation in writing, and will be required to sign an undertaking to use the list only to further the Foundation’s purpose and mission. The Foundation does not provide its membership list to external third parties, except to comply with legal requirements.

The Foundation uses reasonable efforts to maintain members’ information in a secure environment. Any individual who has submitted personal information and wishes to change it or opt out may contact the Foundation to do so.

Websites

Usage data refers to data collected automatically when an individual uses either of the Foundation’s websites. This data is either generated by the use of the site, or from the use of the site infrastructure itself. Usage data may include information such as the IP address of a user’s device, browser type and version, the pages of the website that a user visits, the date and time of the visit, the time spent on pages, and other diagnostic data.

The Foundation subscribes to Google Analytics, which uses cookies to gather information. The information gathered is used for statistical purposes, and the information is stored in the United States. Google may communicate it to third parties if required to do so by law. The information gathered includes the anonymized IP address of a user’s device, that device’s operating system, and the pages visited, including the date and time of visit.

Some areas of the Foundation’s websites have access restricted to members only. Users will be asked to register and provide personal information in order to visit member-restricted sections of the websites. The Foundation will only use this information to further the mission of the Foundation, including communicating with its members.

Both fccsmontreal.org and catholiccentre.ca contain links to external sites. The Foundation is not responsible for the content of those sites, nor for their privacy-related practices.

Policy Change

If we alter this policy, any changes will be posted on our websites so that users are always informed of the information we collect about them, how we use it and the circumstances under which we may disclose it.

Acceptance of the Privacy Policy

By applying for membership or registering as a member, or by using any Foundation of Catholic Community Services website, individuals signify their acceptance of our Privacy Policy. By submitting personal information, individuals agree that it will be governed by this privacy policy.
